So what’s harder, finding the perfect outfit or finding your perfect foundation shade? For me, it’s finding the perfect foundation shade for my skin, especially after a hot summer. Luckily there’s a tool that takes all the stress off your shoulders when it comes to trying to find the perfect foundation for your skin. I was recently introduced to Sephora’s Color IQ at Sephora inside JCPenney and I have to say it made looking for the perfect foundation so much easier!
Color IQ is a matchmaking device that pairs you with the perfect foundation shade every time. The handheld tool scans the surface of your skin to tell you exactly what shade and brand of foundation (from a pool of 1,500 contenders). This tool can also find the perfect lipstick shade for your skin.
Before you try out the Color IQ, be sure to note what kind of foundation/look you’re going for (Matte, Natural or Radiant). This will help you narrow down your foundation by shade and finish. For Fall, I love more of a natural/matte finish so I made sure to inform my Sephora Area Education Manager and from there, we took the Color IQ test and waited for the results. Note: A Color IQ scan and shade matching is free, and it takes less than five minutes. No need to make an appointment, either. And when you’re done, you can email yourself the list of products it generates.
Now it’s time to play! With the help of my Sephora inside JCPenney Area Education Manager, we were able to find the best shade of foundation that had the finish I was looking for. We went with a more natural foundation that melted right into my skin and gave me a natural glow.
We went with Make Up For Ever’s Ultra HD foundation because I wanted a natural finish— something not too heavy and nice. I have to say I was pretty impressed with the Color IQ and that fact that this tool matched me perfectly.
When it comes to finding your perfect match, Sephora’s Color IQ will save you so much time and stress. Next time you’re in JCPenney be sure to stop by Sephora inside JCPenney and try out the Color IQ. It’ll be #SoWorthIt!
