Growing up in the south had a major impact on my style. Florida is one of those states where fashion isn’t praised like up north NYC, we’re pretty much in swimsuits, flip flops and short sets year round.
Living in the Sunshine State has many perks – endless beach days and, living within driving distance of Disney World. While living in a subtropical climate provides us the opportunity to staycation, it denies us the opportunity to fully embrace fall fashion trends. Just because we live in a warmer climate doesn’t mean we should miss out on the fun of a new wardrobe and experimenting with the latest trends. Miami Style has compiled a list of creative ways to embrace the best of fall fashion without breaking a sweat.
There are still ways to incorporate the cutest fall styles into the Florida weather situation! The trick is to wear those signature fall colors in a variety of styles, not necessarily just sweaters and cardigans. I call it “semi-fall style.” Hunter greens, grays, maroons, creams/nudes, deep purples and earthy tones look incredible in the fall and will look super chic in your semi-fall wardrobe.
I teamed up with Old Navy to share how my hometown has influenced my personal town, especially in the Fall. Florida fashion calls for breathable clothing, here in Miami, once fall hits we rock neutrals like crazy and we always have a light jacket nearby for the chilly nights.
This was a fun collab with Old Navy that features looks from all 50 states! To see more state styles visit http://specials.people.com/oldnavy/50styles50states/ & submit your own look by using #50styles50states #OldNayStyle
